Metallurgy

After a course of study  lasting four years a student gets the  Bachelor degree of Science. The curriculum provides a wide range of subjects: humanities, social, economical, mathematical, natural and  scientific disciplines. A professionally oriented course has such subjects as machine parts, the mechanics of continuous media, metallurgical thermal engineering, material science, the theory of plastic working of metals, the technological processes of metallurgical production, the equipment for plastic working of metals, mechanical and physical properties of metals, modeling of  objects and processes, information technologies in the field of metallurgy, quality control and others. The unique laboratories of the departments of Plastic Working of Metals, metal technologies and aviation material science having modern computers with licensed specialized software are used for training specialists. The knowledge got by the students can be applied during practice at leading enterprises of the region, at the student society, in the design bureau.
Graduates can work  in the sphere of research of composition and properties of materials, computer-aided designing and in the field of modeling of innovation production processes. The graduates work at  the enterprises and in the companies such as Samara Metallurgical Plant ALCOA Ltd., at Federal State Unitary Enterprise State Research Production Space Rocket Centre TsSKB “Progress”, “Kusnetsov” plc. and  others. Master programme “Innovation technologies of getting materials with required properties” has been founded in the field of speciality 22.04.02 since 2009.
