The International Olympiad of the Association “Global Universities”

The Olympiad is your key to early enrollment and free undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate studies at one of the leading universities in Russia.

Who Can Participate?

Foreign citizens and stateless persons, including compatriots living abroad, can take part in the Olympiad; it is necessary to have an education that allows enrolling in educational institutions of higher education according to the national legislation of the state of study (for the bachelor’s degree track), a degree diploma – at least a bachelor’s one (for the master’s degree track), and at least a master’s degree diploma (for the postgraduate track) or getting it in the academic year of the Olympiad.

What is Participation in the Olympiad for?

The Olympiad winners are eligible for free tuition at leading Russian universities.

Fill out your portfolio and take the entrance test in your personal account. All the scientific papers, achievements, and certificates you have ever received are important. Try to add as many achievements to your Profile as possible to increase your chances of success. The portfolio structure for all Profiles and tracks is unified.

The End of the Portfolio Submittance

Since the date, you will no longer be able to add and edit your portfolio. And while you are waiting, you can see the automatic estimate that has appeared in your personal account: it will help you assess approximately what score you may get.

The Second Stage

Portfolios successfully selected in the competition will be admitted to the second stage for the appropriate Profile, for solving Olympiad tasks within three hours in the proctoring mode. Features of the University

Samara National Research University is one of the leading Russian universities. Its special status is enshrined in the regulatory documents of the Government of the Russian Federation and recognized by the academic community. It is an advanced scientific and educational centre in the field of aerospace research and technology. The University also implements educational and research programs in various natural and socio-humanitarian sciences, economics and law. Samara University is one of 29 national research universities of Russia. History of Samara National Research University and its affiliated universities is directly related to industrial and economic development of the Samara region as one of the leading in the world aerospace centres.

Positions in International Rankings

Samara University is one of the most dynamically-developing Russian institutions of higher education. Over the past 8 years, Samara National Research University has been continuously represented in the global rankings of two leading world agencies – QS and THE.

In September 2016, the British Journal “Times Higher Education” included the University in the “THE World University Rankings 2016–2017” for the first time. By the end of 2024, the University is included in the group of universities that took places 1201–1500 in the global part of this review.

Today, Samara University is included in the group 1001–1200 in the QS World University Rankings.

Besides the global ratings, since 2014 Samara University has been represented in a number of regional and subject rankings by the QS and THE Agencies.

Samara

Samara is a modern and dynamic Russian metropolis, a research, industrial, educational and cultural centre of Russia. The city’s population is about 1.2 million residents. It is the country’s sixth-largest city in terms of population base. Today, it is one of the leading Russian and world aerospace technology centres. All kinds of modern space technology are designed here. And not just for Russia, but also for Western European countries and the USA. This equipment includes rocket propulsion systems, man-made Earth-orbiting satellites and, of course, the most reliable family of booster rockets in the history of space exploration – the Soyuz. Samara is a hospitable and multi-religious city. It is home to Russian Orthodox, Catholic and Anglican churches, the Armenian Apostolic Church, mosques, a synagogue and other religious institutions and centres. Sergey Korolev International Airport is one of the largest in the country. Its annual passenger traffic stands at over 1 million people. Up to 15 regular flights are operated daily to Moscow alone. The flight geography covers over 80 directions, including foreign flights.

Samara University’s Student Hostels

Samara National Research University campus is favorably situated in the geographical center of the Samara city. Student quarter comprises over thirty training and laboratory buildings, as well as a complex of student dormitories for 4,200 people.

The cost of accommodation for foreign students in Samara University’s student hostels, in rooms for 2 to 4 people, ranges from RUB 720 to 4,800 per month.
