The work is carried out within the Megagrant of the Russian Federation Government to study the combustion reactions

The installation of a unique experimental setup key element started at Samara University. On Thursday, May 16, the vacuum chamber weighing 1.5 tons was lifted by a construction crane to the 3rd  floor of  Samara University scientific building.
The rare scientific instrument produced in Russia is one of the key elements of a unique scientific setup created at Samara University as part of the Megagrant allocated by the Russian Federation Government. There are only three similar setups in the world. Two of them are in the United States, one –  in China.
With the help of the setup assembled at Samara University, the scientists will be able to understand in detail the chemical and physical processes occurring during combustion. The results of these studies are important for both fundamental science and applied research. On the one hand, they help to understand the processes of planets and cosmic bodies formation and the origin of life in the Universe. On the other hand, they will allow engineers to create new aircraft engines that are close to perfect ones and can use fuel more efficiently, and therefore will be much more economical and more environmentally friendly than the existing ones.
For reference:
The project to create an experimental setup for the study of combustion reactions is being implemented within the Megagrant of the Russian Federation Government on topic "Development of Physically Grounded Combustion Models". To implement the Megagrant international scientific laboratory "Physics and Chemistry of Combustion" was created under the guidance of Professor of Florida International University Alexander Mebel. Within its framework Samara University scientists in close cooperation with the major scientists of the USA and Germany conduct world-class research and experiments.
