The training is carried out on the basis of Faculty of Air Transport Engineers and takes 9 semesters to complete. Upon graduation students get a Bachelor degree. The curriculum includes general subjects in Humanities, Social Studies, Economics, Mathematics and Sciences. Among profession-oriented courses one may find Basics of Reliability Theory, Technical Diagnostics, Basics of Technical Maintenance of Aviation Electrical Systems and Navigation Systems, Human Factor, Onboard Digital Computing Devices, Avionics, Automated Flight Control Systems, Radioelectronic Measuring Systems and others. Students have access to advanced laboratory facilities based on the premises of many departments of Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance. Such laboratories are equipped with modern computer technologies with specialized licensed software. Practical skills in Aircraft Maintenance are obtained on the grounds of a unique airfield of the University, with all the machines still in operation.
Graduates deal with technical maintenance, troubleshooting and major overhauls of aviation electrical systems and aircraft navigation systems for aircraft and spacecraft. They work for a number of Russian and foreign companies (Volga-Dnepr, Transaero, Ural Airlines), for enterprises of the United Aircraft Corporation and United Engine Corporation, for international airlines and airline administration offices abroad. Graduates work as engineers at aircraft maintenance facilities, flight-test centers and engine test bases, they carry out scientific research, run departments and entire companies.
Within the framework of field of study 25.04.02 “Technical maintenance of aviation electrical systems and aircraft navigation systems” there has been opened a Master’s Program “Condition Control and Failure Diagnosis of aviation electrical systems and aircraft navigation systems”.
