From September 21 to 27, 2025, the large-scale educational exhibition "RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES – THE BEST CHOICE," organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Vietnam, was held with great success in Vietnam. The delegation of leading Russian universities included representatives from Samara National Research University: Sergey Goriainov, Cand. Sc. (Tech.), Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Office, and Ekaterina Kopshukova, Cand. Sc. (Philol.), Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology. The goal of their trip was career guidance work, strengthening international ties, promoting the Samara Region, promoting the university's brand in the Vietnamese education market, and attracting foreign citizens to study at Samara University.

The university representatives visited three key educational centers in Vietnam – Hanoi, Hung Yen Province, and Da Nang. The events sparked keen interest among Vietnamese applicants, students, and teachers.

The official opening of the exhibition took place at the Russian House in Hanoi. In the following days, the delegation of Russian universities held presentations and meetings at Le Quy Don Technical University in Hung Yen Province – the hometown of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee – as well as at leading universities in Da Nang: the University of Da Nang and the Polytechnic University of Da Nang.

Special attention was paid to working with talented Vietnamese youth. Lively and intensive meetings were held at specialized schools for gifted children in Hung Yen and the Nguyen Binh Khiem Specialized School for Gifted Students in Da Nang. Schoolchildren actively inquired about opportunities for free education in Russia through the Open Doors International Olympiad and through the Russian Government quota. Over 1,000 government quotas are allocated annually to Vietnam for Vietnamese schoolchildren to enroll in prestigious Russian universities, including Samara University, to give young Vietnamese the opportunity to study and build a successful future. Participants asked questions about summer and winter school programs, scholarships, support for international students, prospects for studying the Russian language, actively participated in quizzes, listened to presentations, and watched videos.

A key element of the program were working meetings with the leadership of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committees of the provinces. The negotiations discussed issues of developing cooperation in personnel training, research, organizing joint educational programs, internships, and academic exchanges.

"The opportunity to participate in such large-scale events is a strategically important step in the development of Samara University's international activities," said Sergey Goriainov, Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Office. "Direct dialogue with Vietnamese applicants, their parents, and teachers allows us not only to attract motivated and talented applicants but also to build long-term partnerships with leading educational organizations and educational management bodies in Vietnam. We see enormous potential for cooperation, especially in areas such as aerospace technology, engine manufacturing, IT, applied physics, and Russian as a foreign language, and we are confident that this work will contribute to further strengthening the positions of our university and the Samara region in Southeast Asia."

During the exhibition, representatives of Samara University, together with colleagues from other Russian universities, carried out extensive career guidance work, communicated with hundreds of potential applicants, and agreed on new areas of cooperation with Vietnamese partners.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi (RCSC) expressed its deep gratitude to all participants of the delegation, including Sergey Goriainov and Ekaterina Kopshukova, for their effective work in promoting Russian education, science, and the Russian language in Vietnam.

In turn, we express our gratitude to the Director of the Russian House in Hanoi, Vladimir Murashkin, his Deputy Andrey Borodenko, staff of the Russian House, Cand. Sc. (Philol.), Associate Professor N.A. Kutyreva and Yu.V. Kutyrev, as well as employees of local authorities, Vietnamese schoolchildren and their parents, students, school teachers, and university professors for the atmosphere of hospitality and the warm reception extended during the visit of the Russian delegation.

The trip confirmed the high interest of Vietnamese youth in receiving a quality education in Russia and opened up new opportunities for increasing the presence of students from Vietnam at Samara University.
