    On Monday, June 8, Samara University hosted the opening ceremony of the summer educational intensive "Korolev School." Fifty high school students from grades 7 through 11 will spend the next few days tackling real-world engineering challenges under the guidance of expert mentors, focusing on the specialized program "Fundamentals of Control and Data Transmission Systems for CubeSat-Format Spacecraft."

    The event kicked off with inspiring welcoming addresses from Nikolai Ivliev, Associate Professor at the Department of Cyberphotonics, and Ekaterina Kopshukova, Deputy Head of the Student Support Department, who encouraged the young participants to embrace the spirit of space exploration and innovation.

    A Four-Day Journey into Space Tech

    The intensive is packed with hands-on learning, immersive experiences, and practical application:

    • June 8: Opening ceremony, core educational sessions, and guided tours of Samara University’s cutting-edge laboratories.
    • June 9: Specialized masterclasses in key technical disciplines and an engaging intellectual game.
    • June 10: An exciting field trip to the Samara University student airfield.
    • June 11: Final laboratory tours and the official closing ceremony.

    Bright Minds from Leading Schools

    This year’s "Korolev School" brings together talented students from premier educational institutions in Samara and the surrounding region, including:

    • School No. 68, named after Hero of the Soviet Union V. P. Lezin;
    • "Yuzhny Gorod" Educational Center;
    • Samara Medical and Technical Lyceum.

    For these students, participating in the "Korolev School" is about much more than just acquiring new academic knowledge. It is a gateway to genuine scientific research. The program offers a unique opportunity to interact with leading scientists and engineers, get hands-on experience with actual space technologies, and develop fully realized projects that they will proudly present to a panel of industry experts at the finale.
