The program is aimed at the training of highly-qualified specialists in the area of the testing and quality assurance of software.
Special emphasis is placed within the scope of the program on the study of cutting-edge data-analysis technologies, as well as on mastering the methods of organizing and managing projects involving software development. A special course is devoted to Data Mining and Big Data using the capabilities offered by supercomputers.

Features (advantages) of the programme
The program offers a balanced combination of the mastery of theoretical knowledge and practical skills involved in the field of software testing, analysis and management.
The program rests on a serious theoretical base with respect to automated data analysis, as well as on a high volume of practical classes, aimed at solving specific tasks associated with software quality assurance.
Core courses in the master’s degree program are based on study materials developed by EPAM Systems, with a number of lab projects also expected to be completed at the company’s facilities. This makes it possible to effectively utilize unique experience in the training of over 500 professional engineers in the area of software development and testing, as accumulated at the company’s learning center.
The study process actively incorporates the use of the state-of-the-art IT infrastructure at the university’s disposal: the Sergey Korolev supercomputer, a hardware-software suite for the processing, analysis and storage of Big Data, and an impressive array of multimedia equipment.
Classes are led by candidates and doctors of science with a depth of practical experience working at major IT companies and system integrators, with lectures and workshops featuring the participation of highly-qualified specialists from the IT industry holding management positions overseeing real-world IT projects.
The best students have the opportunity to take part in competitions for research grants, sponsored scholarships and merit-based academic scholarships.

Academic programme structure (curriculum features)
Consistent with the State Educational Standard for higher education, the core academic program consists of three blocks: Disciplines (modules), Practical Training, State Final Certification.
The volume of the first block consists of 60 course credit units (CCU, which are distributed as follows:
23% general-scientific disciplines;
77% specialized disciplines.
Volume of practical training – 53 CCU.
Volume of State Final Certification – 7 CCU.
The core potion of the program contains the following courses:
Foreign language;
History, Methodology and Modern Philosophy of Science;
Data Mining and Big Data.
Special emphasis is placed on working with English-language study materials and realizing the future graduate’s individual potential in the English-speaking environment of an international IT company.
In order to ensure the confident mastery of cutting-edge IT technologies, the program also includes the following two courses:
Software Development;
Modern Trends in Computer Science.
The testing potion of the program includes the following courses, to be taken consecutively:
Testing and Quality Assurance of Software and Databases;
Quality Assurance and Software Lifecycle Management;
Automated Software Testing.
The analytical potion of the program includes the following courses, to be taken consecutively:
Software Design and Requirements Specification;
Intelligent Systems;
Business Analysis and Software Engineering.
Core laboratory classes are held at the Samara-based office of EPAM Systems, including the opportunity to use the company’s equipment in consultation with its specialists.
