Agreement on practical training of students in the Upper House of Parliament and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has been reached

On Thursday, November 02, the E.M. Primakov Regional Center for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations hosted the meeting of Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and Viktor Kress, Member of the Committee, with teachers and foreign affairs students of Samara University.



The council of the senators and Vladimir Bogatyrev, Rector of the University, resulted in the agreement on practical training of students of Samara University in the Upper House of Parliament and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, spoke to the students, highly appreciating the personality of Yevgeny Primakov as a political figure of modern Russia. Grigory Karasin stressed that Yevgeny Primakov was a true professional and played a significant role in developing Russia’s foreign policy.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Farit Mukhametshin expressed his willingness to provide comprehensive assistance to young specialists in implementing their scientific and career interests. The senator from the Samara Region noted that, together with the senior managers of Samara University, practical training of students at the Federation Council, the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other organizations was implemented.

During the meeting, open discussion took place, in course of which students could ask their questions related to current problems of international relations, as well as learn firsthand about the work of the Federation Council, modern integration processes in framework of BRICS+, the Greater Eurasian Partnership, as well as the Belt and Road Project.

Grigory Karasin gave advice to future foreign affairs specialists on building friendly relations with representatives of various countries. He stressed that the task of a foreign affairs student is not just to remember dates and facts, but to learn thinking and analyzing, devoting themselves to the profession. “I am sure that those who are diligent and inquisitive can master knowledge and skills”, he concluded.
