The Magnificent One Hundred!

For the first time, Samara University conducted the extensive survey of students’ opinions, which revealed the most influential, reputable teachers, whose lectures have been imprinted in the memory for life, communication with whom students will not miss, even if volcanic eruption begins in a neighboring classroom. Such unique teachers-mentors turned out to be one hundred and eleven! Four thousand students, who study under the bachelor’s and specialist programs, filled out the questionnaire to be developed by experts from the Faculty of Sociology.

True opinion leaders gathered on March 7 in the Academic Council Hall. They were welcomed by Rector Vladimir Bogatyrev and Vice-Rector for General Affairs Mikhail Kovalev.

The rector addressed the audience with sincere gratitude, “For first-year students, switching from school to university turns out to be quite stressful, on the one hand, they begin feeling like adults, on the other hand, the lack of parental control leads to decrease in motivation. It is very important for these yesterday’s schoolchildren to meet at the university teachers who could capture their attention, would become a guide for them. And judging by the students’ choice, you are just such significant people in their lives! Thank you for your proficiency, for your attention to students, for the meanings you convey to them at lectures and in communication outside the classrooms”.

The meeting ended with awarding the rector’s commendations.
