Samara University is ready to increase the number of students from Vietnam several times, having prepared special training programs for specialists in the field of aviation and cosmonautics. Currently, 19 students from this country study at the University.
“Our University is ready to increase the number of students from Vietnam several times in the near future. Now we have 19 students from this country, 14 of them study under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. At our University, Vietnamese students study in professional educational programs, such as Mechanical Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Design, Production and Maintenance of Rockets and Space Complexes, Rocket Complexes and Astronautics, Management, Fundamental Computer Science and Information Technology. We will be able to accept for training everyone, who wants to study at our University, and prepare for students from Vietnam special educational programs in aviation and cosmonautics”, stated Vladimir Bogatyrev, Rector of Samara University.
According to its Rector, Samara University has extensive experience in organizing professional development programs and basic educational ones in foreign partners’ interests, including programs in online format in Russian and English. Among the University’s key competencies, there are development, production and testing of satellites, including payloads for various missions, the Earth remote sensing technologies and the big data processing for various applied tasks - cartography, the wide-band monitoring, with using hyperspectral technologies.
On June 10–15, 2024, the delegation from Samara University visited Vietnam. The visit purpose was building up our own foreign network of partner organizations, which would increase the number of students from Vietnam. Representatives of Samara University visited Hanoi University of Science and Technology, International Educational Research Institute, Da Nang University of Science and Education, Da Nang University of Science and Technology and other educational institutions. During the meetings with the leadership of the Vietnamese universities, issues of organizing joint educational programs, academic exchanges, as well as participation of Vietnamese students in Samara University’s International Summer and Winter Schools were discussed.
Previously, Samara University participated in preparation of proposals within the work of the Russian-Vietnamese Commission for Cooperation in the Field of Education, Science and Technology. These proposals include inter alia the opportunity for holding in Samara the Russian-Vietnamese Scientific and Educational Forum and the need for developing financing mechanisms for Russian and Vietnamese universities’ joint scientific and educational projects in priority areas of science, engineering and technology development.
