On September 16–20, 2024, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, the All-Russian Scientific Conference with International Participation “Yenisei Photonics – 2024” took place. The Conference program included leading scientists’ lectures, verbal and poster presentations in photonics, made by researchers, graduate students and students.
At the Conference, Samara University was represented by the following research papers:
· Section “Artificial Intelligence in Photonics”: architecture of the convolutional neural network for the diagnosis of skin neoplasms (Andrey Ivanovich Komlev, a postgraduate student of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics, Assistant at the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems); analysis of Raman spectra of the skin by applying artificial intelligence (Ksenia Evgenievna Tomnikova, the 2nd year master-degree student of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics);
· Section “Biophotonics”: analysis of the information content of spectral features in the task of identifying malignant neoplasms of the skin (Irina Aleksandrovna Matveeva, Assistant of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems); analysis of Raman spectra of blood serum by the method of resolution of multidimensional curves (Irina Aleksandrovna Pimenova, the 2nd year master-degree student of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics); spectral study of clinical isolates of s.pneumoniae, s.oralis and s.mitis by Raman spectroscopy (Alyona Vasilievna Zotova, the 4th year bachelor-degree student of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics); application of optical methods for standardization of collagen-containing hydrogel when replacing defects in the mucous surface of the oral cavity (Sergey Sergeevich Ivanov, 4th year bachelor-degree student of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics).
The young scientists were impressed by the high level of the Conference. “All the reports presented are relevant studies in the field of photonics, and most of them were carried out by young scientists. We received positive feedback from colleagues and expert assessment of our work by leading scientists, as well as drew several ideas for our further research”, notes Irina Matveeva.
In addition to participating in the sectional meetings, the young scientists managed to take part in the cultural program of the Conference and visit the National Park “Krasnoyarskie Stolby”.
“This is an amazing place that impresses with its scale and diverse nature. We not only watched the Siberian taiga and syenite rocks, but also got acquainted with the forest inhabitants – chipmunks and squirrels”, shares Andrey Komlev his impressions.
