This fall, Samara University is implementing the International Online Schools project, which trains 100 citizens from CIS and Asian countries at once. This is an educational project in the format of short-term programs aimed at studying disciplines in the field of professional activity and familiarization with cultural and historical traditions and sights of Russia. The project is carried out with the grant support of ANO Eurasia.
The opening of online schools took place on October 15 in a remote format on the basis of the Boiling Point of Samara University. Three educational programs will be held within the framework of international online schools: "Fundamentals of professional communication: Russian language and culture", "Management of a high-tech enterprise: preparation of an investment project", and "Effective tools for developing soft leadership skills". In addition, online tours of Samara, a walk along the embankment, master classes and other cultural and leisure activities will be organized for participants in order to learn Russian culture, the sights of Samara and the achievements of Samara University
Short-term programs have been implemented by the Center for International Short-Term Educational Programs of the Institute of Economics and Management for 10 years. Since 2020, programs have also been conducted in an online format, the Center's team has conducted 22 online schools in eight educational programs of a technical, socio-humanitarian and economic profile.
More than 300 applications were received for online schools from citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as from Asian countries: India, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia. 100 applications were selected for the two-week training. As a result of successful completion of training and presentation of final projects, participants will be issued certificates of completion of programs.
"For the first time, schoolchildren and students from post-Soviet countries will take part in international online schools, which became possible thanks to the support of ANO Eurasia. The expansion of the geography of participants and their interest is a confirmation of the relevance of distance education programs at Samara University. Online schools allow you to bring together people from different parts of the world in order to study Russian culture and teach specialized disciplines. Together with a team of volunteers, we will try to make the next two weeks memorable and bright for the participants!" said Lada Uvarova, project manager and director of the Center for International Short-Term Educational Programs.
ANO Eurasia is an autonomous non-profit organization for the promotion of international cooperation and its strengthening, in particular in the post-Soviet space.
In addition to the training, international students will get to know Russia, Samara and Samara University with the help of volunteers. Participants will be able to try to cook traditional Russian dishes, virtually visit the training airfield of Samara University and the sights of the city.
As part of the project, volunteer training was also conducted. Samara University students have received special training, and now they will actively participate in the organization of schools. In addition to the already planned events, the volunteer team will assist in conducting live broadcasts, moderating online classes, communicating with participants and ensuring intercultural communication.

The Centre for International Short-Term Educational Programs was established in 2019 on the basis of Samara University’s Institute of Economics and Management. The Centre has been implementing its programs in offline format since 2015. Over the past ten years, more than 673 international students from 45 countries and 74 leading world universities, as well as 49 teachers of Samara University and 13 foreign lecturers have participated in the Centre’s programs. Since 2020, the Center has also been organizing educational programs in an online format, as of 2024, 22 international schools have been implemented in an online format.
