Recently, a group of staff and graduate students of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics Samara University attended the "7th International Conference on Particle Physics and Astrophysics" (ICPPA-2024). The conference, organized by the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI", was held from October 22 to October 25, 2024 in Moscow.
We asked Lev Eldarovich Alimov to talk about the conference: "The ICPPA-2024 Conference is a multidisciplinary conference in which young scientists and experts present the results of their research in the field of astrophysics, gravity and cosmology. In addition, the scope of the conference included such fields of knowledge as heavy ion physics, nuclear physics, experimental and theoretical physics."
According to Lev Eldarovich, on the first day of the conference, the participants heard plenary reports on developments, prospects and experimental results:
· BM@N (Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron) is an experiment aimed at studying collisions of elementary particles and heavy ions with a fixed target, conducted on a nuclotron at the experimental complex of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna;
· MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector) and SPD (Spin Physics Detector) are experiments on colliding heavy ions and polarized proton beams conducted at the NICA collider at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna;
· SPASCHARM (SPin ASymmetries in CHARMonium production) is an experiment to study collisions of polarized proton–antiproton beams, conducted at the Institute of High Energy Physics in Protvino at the U70 accelerator.
The sectional reports covered a wide range of topics: from fundamental studies of the formation of primary black holes to new results of experimental determination of the neutrino mass difference.
Scientists of Samara University made the following presentations:
· "The birth of bound states of leptons in electron-positron annihilation" (Fedor Alekseevich Martynenko, Assistant at the Department of General and Theoretical Physics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences);
· “Resonant states of muon three-particle systems with lithium, helium and hydrogen nuclei" (Alexey Vladimirovich Eskin, Researcher at the Department of General and Theoretical Physics);
· ”Associative generation of J/ψ mesons and photons in the approach of parton reduction at high energy" (Lev Eldarovich Alimov, PhD student of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics. Scientific supervisor – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Vladimir Anatolyevich Saleev);
· "Generation of J/ψ mesons at small transverse pulses in the soft gluon summation approach" (Kirill Konstantinovich Shilyaev, PhD student at the Department of General and Theoretical Physics. Scientific supervisor – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Vladimir Anatolyevich Saleev);
· “Paired generation of Muller-Navel jets in the high-energy factorization approach" (Alexey Alekseevich Chernyshev, graduate of the Bachelor's Degree in Physics at Samara University, graduate student at the Moscow State University branch in Dubna, together with Vladimir Anatolyevich Saleev, Head of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics at Samara University).
The research of young scientists presented at the conference will be published in the journal Physics of Atomic Nuclei (indexed in Scopus and WOS).
