On October 29, the popular science event Scientific Battle of Samara University took place within the framework of the University League of Scientific Battles, a project to develop the Science Slam movement in Russian universities. The League is organized by the Science Slam Association of Russia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and MISIS University. In 2024, the project is being implemented as part of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.

Five scientists performed on the stage of the Univer Studio Cultural Center and told the audience about their research in a popular science format. Students, postgraduates and researchers of Samara University took part in the battle:

Vlad Davydov explained how palladium catalyst will protect the environment

Tatyana Gugueva shared how compensatory competence can help a modern teacher

Andrey Golenko told about the combustion process of p-pyridyl "without smoke and fire"

Polina Yakovleva proved that it is possible to improve the quality of data transmission from nano- and picosatellites

Maxim Tepterev shared the recipe for "aluminum pilaf"

With the help of applause, the audience determined the winner. It was Polina Yakovleva. Now she can apply for participation in the regional stage of the project, and in case of victory — for the All-Russian University Scientific Battle.

We wish our scientists new discoveries and achievements and hope that for some of the audience, the Scientific Battle of Samara University was the first step on the path to science!
