21st Century Laws: Student from Samara University Explores the Legal Regime of Computer Programs

Daria Kosogorova Participates in the V Interuniversity Scientific-Educational Conference "New Challenges and Opportunities in Private Law"

Daria Kosogorova, a fourth-year law student at Samara University, participated in the V Interuniversity Scientific-Educational Conference "New Challenges and Opportunities in Private Law," held in Moscow from April 11–12, 2025. The event was organized by Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO).

This prestigious conference brought together not only undergraduate and graduate law students but also practicing lawyers. Attendees included speakers from Russia and abroad.

The conference featured twelve sections on private law topics, with participants undergoing a rigorous selection process beforehand.

Representing the Department of Civil and Business Law at Samara University, Daria Kosogorova presented her report titled "The Legal Regime of Computer Programs in Domestic and Foreign Legislation: An Integrative Approach."

"Participating in the conference inspired me to advance my research and exchange ideas with representatives from leading Moscow universities. The section on ‘Interdisciplinary Issues of Intellectual Rights Protection,’ where I presented, covered topics like the legal subjectivity of artificial intelligence, expanding copyright subjects, and proposals to extend the legal framework for computer programs," shared Daria.

Daria Kosogorova’s work was awarded a third-place Diploma.
