Yulia Sharychenkova, a student at the Institute of Informatics and Cybernetics of Samara University, attended the XIV Congress of Young Scientists hosted by ITMO National Research University in St. Petersburg from April 7 to 11, 2025.
The congress aimed to stimulate scientific and technical activities among young researchers, provide them with public speaking experience, and enhance the academic quality and validation of bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects for the 2024/2025 academic year. Over 3,000 students participated in the event, with more than 100 sessions organized across various scientific sections.
Yulia Sharychenkova took part in the "Technical Vision" section, delivering a presentation titled "Improving the Accuracy of Endoscopic Manipulations Using Stereoscopic Visualization Systems" (supervised by Associate Professor I.A. Kudryavtsev, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences, Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems).
We asked Yulia to share her impressions of the congress and her presentation: "Participating in this event was a valuable experience. I gained public speaking skills, received feedback from more experienced colleagues, and made new connections in the scientific community," she wrote.
Following the conference, Yulia Sharychenkova’s presentation was awarded a 1st Place Diploma in the "Best Presentation by a Young Scientist" category.
