Applicants from Latin America Learn about Samara University

On April 26th, the Center for the Promotion of the Russian Language, in collaboration with the Latin American-Russian Association (ALAR - ASOCIACION LATINOAMERICANA RUSA), headed by Mr. Jorge Cieza de Leon Tuesta Wenceslao, conducted an online round table for prospective students from Latin America on the topic: "Samara University – Space – Russian Language".

During the round table, the key role of the Russian language in modern space research was discussed, along with its importance for work in the space sector (e.g., the International Space Station (ISS), Roscosmos). Russian cultural traditions related to space were also highlighted (Cosmonautics Day, space museums, etc.).

Participants in the round table included graduate students from the "Dynamics, Ballistics, and Motion Control of Flight Vehicles" program: Angelo Salvatore Espinoza Valles from Peru and Tirza Oana Berger De Souza from Brazil. Jean Carlos Sanchez Perez from Venezuela, a student at the Center for the Promotion of the Russian Language, prepared a presentation and recited Sergei Yesenin's poem "Goy You, Russia, My Dear..." ("Гой ты, Русь, моя родная...").

The event aimed to strengthen the long-standing cooperation between Samara University and the Latin American-Russian Association, promote the Russian language abroad, and increase the interest of prospective students from countries such as Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia in the space-related programs offered by Samara University.
