"To Be, Not to Seem": Psychological Workshop on Authentic Self-Presentation

What are you like in others’ eyes? Does this image align with how you perceive yourself? Why is the need to please and conform so strong, and how can you avoid losing yourself in the process? These questions launched the "Hello, It’s Me!" workshop by the Social-Psychological Center, held on May 20th in the Library Co-working space.

The workshop focused on self-presentation – but not through conventional advice like "be more confident" or "speak louder." Instead, it was a dynamic exploration of how to:

·         Be authentic in moments of connection with others,

·         Present yourself to the world without facades and without fear,

·         Maintain your inner grounding even amidst uncertainty.

Participants engaged in practical exercises designed to:

1.    Heighten awareness of their self-image,

2.    Identify gaps between their self-perception and how others see them.

This process fostered deeper understanding of their own reactions, motivations, and aspirations. Crucially, it revealed that authenticity stems not from striving to please, but from the courage to show up as you truly are.

This psychological journey unfolded in a warm, supportive atmosphere. Many participants highlighted that the group’s open format, honesty, and deep engagement created a sense of safety – allowing them to voice doubts and make personal breakthroughs.

For attendees, the workshop became a true platform for self-discovery, where simply encountering oneself was enough to inspire a renewed perspective on self-presentation.
