A ceremonial signing of the first strategic agreement between Samara National Research University and Tangshan Oriental School took place in the city of Tangshan, PRC.

Sergey Borisovich Goriainov, Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Office, signed the Memorandum on behalf of Samara University, while Wang Lin, Director of International Affairs, signed on behalf of the School.

The signing was witnessed by Lun Kaijie, representative of the Tangshan Commerce Bureau, Zhang Guofu, President of the School, and Zhang Shuoying, Deputy Director General of the School. Also present at the ceremony were Zhang Shuolong, Director of the Development Department, Sang Nan, Director of Tangshan Oriental School, Bi Huiqin, Director of Tangshan Experimental School, Tian Lihong, Director of Tangshan Yongping High School, Yan Wenguo, Executive Director of the International Department, and Ekaterina Valerievna Kopshukova, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

This event is significant not only because it builds interaction between educational institutions and strengthens educational exchange between Russia and China but also serves as a new stage in developing the international potential for active cooperation between the Samara region and the city of Tangshan.

"Our interaction is a strategic alliance aimed at creating an educational space between our countries. The signing of this document is not just a formal step, but the start of a long-term partnership focused on developing relations between our countries, and in particular, between a school in China and a university in Russia. Together, we can create new opportunities for students, help them unlock their potential, and build a successful professional trajectory. We are confident that our cooperation will be filled with specific projects, mutual exchange of experience, and innovative solutions. May this day mark the beginning of fruitful joint work that will benefit schoolchildren, students, teachers, and the entire education systems of our countries," said Sergey Borisovich Goriainov, Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Office, Cand. Sc. (Engineering), in his welcoming address.

During the ceremony, the leaders exchanged signed documents and took a joint commemorative photo. This was followed by an open discussion where all attendees had the opportunity to speak freely, discuss aspects of cooperation in detail, and exchange views on development prospects.

According to the agreement, at the initial stage, Samara University plans to implement a joint educational program in Russian as a foreign language with a technical focus, adapted for senior Chinese school students. Classes will be conducted remotely. On-site summer schools with in-depth study of the Russian language, technical disciplines, and cultural exchange are planned to be organized at Samara University. The participation of Chinese school students in summer schools at the university will provide them with an opportunity to explore the offered fields of study, get acquainted with the academic environment and university infrastructure. This will contribute to an informed choice of our university, create prerequisites for their enrollment in our programs, and allow them to understand the future prospects of studying in Russia. In turn, Tangshan Oriental School provides an opportunity for students and teachers of Samara University to undertake internships with students from the partner school in China, conduct joint research, and participate in research programs.

Following the signing of the agreement, Samara National Research University becomes a participant in the Northeast Asia International Talent Training Base in Tangshan and one of the 15 leading universities within the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China (which also includes Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beihang University, and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University), attracting Chinese applicants for studies in Samara.

The agreement between Samara University and Tangshan Oriental School signifies not only the international integration of educational resources but also embodies the creation of a research platform for training high-quality international personnel, building a bridge of cultural and academic exchange between the two countries.
