In June 2025, an 18-member delegation of Russian scientists and engineers visited leading universities and high-tech companies in Anhui Province, China. The visit was organized to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation included two representatives from Samara:
• Radmir Zagidullin, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Lead Design Engineer at the Space Rocket Operations Department of JSC "Rocket-Space Center Progress"; Doctoral Candidate and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aircraft Manufacturing and Quality Management in Mechanical Engineering, Samara University.
• Irina Naugolnova, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor and Professor at the Department of Economics, Organization and Enterprise Development Strategy, Samara State University of Economics.
Radmir Zagidullin and Irina Naugolnova conduct joint research on cost and quality management for products manufactured by high-tech domestic aerospace enterprises. As part of Zagidullin’s doctoral dissertation, research results are being tested at the "Progress" Rocket-Space Center. The study aims to balance cost and technical characteristics of products.
During their visit to China, the Samara researchers visited leading scientific centers: Hefei University of Technology, the Institute of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Anhui University (Research Institute of Physics and Information Technology), and the International Engineering Institute of Anhui University of Technology. They toured innovative companies such as:
· Aerospace: Zero Aircraft Industry, SHINEAUTO, AIRSAT
· Artificial Intelligence: iFlytek, EASPEED, Zdrive.ai
· Biomedicine & Green Energy: Anke, Beijin, Chery
Radmir Zagidullin also highlighted meetings with leadership from the Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology and municipal administrations of Hefei and Wuhu. During these meetings, young Russian and Chinese scientists discussed joint projects in space technology, artificial intelligence, green energy, biomedical R&D, and economic cooperation under the "Volga-Yangtze" initiative.
"This visit opens new opportunities for Samara scientists," noted Sergey Drukarenko, Head of the Delegation, First Vice President of the International Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations, and Vice President/First Secretary of the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations. "Chinese colleagues proposed several promising cooperation areas, including joint research on remote sensing satellite manufacturing."
"Visits and scientific meetings with representatives of Chinese high-tech aerospace manufacturers and universities yielded mutually interesting proposals—both in aerospace technology and joint research. As a young scientist in Russia’s space industry, I was particularly interested in China’s rocket-space production: designs, materials, and quality assurance methods for R&D, manufacturing, and testing of remote sensing satellites and launch vehicles," stated Radmir Zagidullin.
Preliminary agreements were reached on:
· Sino-Russian joint research
· Collaborative scientific publications
· Student, graduate student, and faculty exchanges
· Specialist exchanges between companies
"The visit demonstrated how closely our research interests align," emphasized Ma Huimin, Second Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Russia.
