On October 21-22, 2025, the M.P. Simonov All-Russian Student Olympiad in "Computer Modeling in Aircraft Engineering" was held at the A.N. Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University – KAI. The event was organized by the Institute of Aviation, Land Transport, and Energy (IALTÉ).

The Olympiad brought together around 70 students from leading technical universities across the country, including KNRTU-KAI, MAI, Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU), MIREA - Russian Technological University (RTU MIREA), Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulyanov, and Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

Samara University was represented in the CAD nomination "Design of Aircraft Structural Elements" by two teams from the Institute of Aerospace Engineering (IAE). The students are majoring in "Aircraft Engineering".

The Samara University teams consisted of:

·         Team "Aviators" (Group 1412): Nikita Ryabukhin, Dmitry Puryga, Sergey Vagin, Artyom Danilin, Nikita Myachkov, Artyom Myazin.

·         Team "Khaipanem nemnozhechko?" (Group 1147): Sukhaylii Shirinbegzoda, Bogdan Usmanov, Daniil Shishkin.

The students were prepared and accompanied by Konstantin Gennadievich Shilimov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aircraft Design and Construction (DADC).

The Olympiad task was to develop the design of a pilot seat for a training aircraft. Based on provided assembly drawings and part drawings, participants were required to create a 3D geometric model of the assembly unit and a set of design documentation using the KOMPAS software. Proficiency with sheet metal tools, the ability to create model configurations (versions/representations), and group specifications were also evaluated.

Based on the assessment of the submitted work, the jury announced the following results:

·         Sukhaylii Shirinbegzoda was awarded a 3rd Place Laureate Diploma in the individual competition.

·         The Samara University student team was awarded a Diploma for 2nd Place in the team competition.

·         Nikita Ryabukhin's work was ranked among the top five individual submissions.

The jury noted the high level of training of Samara University students in the field of geometric modeling. First place in both the individual and team competitions went to students from Chuvash State University.

"Participating in the Olympiad provided valuable experience," shared team captain Sukhaylii Shirinbegzoda. "The students tested their skills and saw the level of preparation of other participants. We met students from other universities and plan to collaborate with them in the future. We drew conclusions on all aspects: the task itself, its execution, and the organization. Therefore, we will continue to develop our skills and abilities."

We congratulate the Olympiad participants on their worthy results and wish them further success!
