The Institute of Aerospace Engineering was formed in 2021 by merging the Institute of Space Rocket Engineering and the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering.
Up to this moment, the Institute of Aerospace Engineering as a special department was established in 2015.
The Institute was the main part of the Faculty of Aircraft, organized together with the University in 1942. In 2016, the Institute of Space Rocket Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology merged.
The Institute of Aeronautical Engineering was formed in accordance with decisions of the University’s Academic Council on September 26, 2014 and January 23, 2015 based on the Faculty of Aircraft and Air Transportation Engineering.
The list of programs and fields of study of the Institute reflects the main stages in the life cycle of aircraft and space rocket engineering including scientific research, design, engineering, production and exploitation. Graduates are fluent in modern computer technologies, mathematical modeling devices and automated design.
The Institute includes a representative office of the University in Blagoveshchensk working with the Vostochny Cosmodrome. At the end of 2015, the Aerospace School was opened to increase the interest in space.
