The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, May 23, was attended by the representatives of government, business structures, higher educational institutions of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. The delegation from Germany arrived to establish partnerships and discuss opportunities for cooperation in the field of scientific developments.
During the meeting, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Samara University Andrey Gavrilov shared the history of the University, its main activities and key areas of scientific research with the representatives of German delegation. And Associate Professor of the Department of Power Plant Automatic Systems of Samara University Viktor Sverbilov described in detail the research direction "Dynamics and Vibroacoustics of Machines".
"Today, we have built cooperation ties with Moscow universities. It is justified, but we are searching for new ways, that is why we are here. Obviously, Electrical Engineering, IT Technology, Mathematics are the points of convergence where we could successfully cooperate with Samara University”, – the general opinion of the delegation was expressed by the head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digitization of Saxony-Anhalt Thomas Steinmetz.
He said that in the territory of Saxony-Anhalt there are two internationally quoted universities. It is Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, which is one of the oldest in Germany. Its history dates back more than 500 years. The second university is Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, specializing in such industries as engineering, automation and energy.
Director General of  “Magdeburg Business Informatics (AG)” Jubran Rajub noted that Magdeburg University is interested in cooperation with Samara University.
"We can collaborate not only on exchange programmes, but also expand cooperation within the framework of joint educational programmes and other kinds of joint work. Education within educational programmes is free, but it is necessary for the students to know German at the level no lower than B1 ", – stressed Jubran Rajub.
The presentation of the Cluster Engineering Centre of Samara Region also aroused the interest of German colleagues. "We are interested in the development of clusters. They help to build interlinkages in economy, science and politics. It is nice that we can exchange experience in this area", – said Thomas Steinmetz.
During the meeting, the representatives of German delegation got acquainted with the scientific developments of Samara University, among which are: unmanned systems, space small and nanosatellites, composite materials, magnetic pulse processing of metals, vibration isolators of metal rubber, additive technologies. The delegation was especially impressed by the details printed on 3D printer. According to the head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digitization of Saxony-Anhalt, additive technologies are also gaining popularity in Germany. Industrialists are moving from traditional engineering to the use of prototyping, 3D printing.
