The SuperJob Research Centre presented the rating list of Russian universities as of 2024 by salaries of young IT specialists that graduated in 2018–2023. Samara National Research University has again entered the TOP 20 of the ranking, rising 15th position by skipping 4 lines, compared to 2023.
According to the research, the average salary of young people with Samara University’s IT-specialty diploma, who had graduated in 2018–2023, grew over a year by 25,000 rubles, and amounted to 150,000 rubles. Herewith, the ranking-makers indicate that 80% of the University’s IT-specialties graduates of that period remained working in the Samara Region.
The ranking leaders are still the capital’s universities: the 1st position took Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the 2nd — ITMO University, the 3rd place was shared by Lomonosov Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and the Higher School of Economics.
In 2024, the Samara Region is represented in the ranking by 3 universities: Samara University, Volga State University of Telecommunications and Informatics, and Samara State Technical University.

The ranking has been compiled by the SuperJob Research Centre as the result of comparing average salaries of Russian graduate students of 2018–2023. State universities - classical and specialized technical ones - can take part in the research. The SuperJob CV base (over 30 mln CVs) and other open sources are used for data sources.
The data-collection period is 2 months before the ranking release date. For each university participating in the ranking, the sample is at least 70 resumes of graduates of specialized faculties,in the specified graduation period, excluding resumes of interns, junior specialists, applicants with less than 1 year of work experience in the specialty.
Resumes for positions in Software Development, Information Security, Software Testing, DevOps, Analytics, Data Research, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering are considered.
