The organization and development of cooperation in scientific and educational fields became the main topic of the five-day official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President of Samara National Research University Viktor Soyfer and Head of the Research department of the University Albert Gareev. The Samara delegation was hosted by the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmiy and Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov.
The invitation to visit the leading scientific and educational organizations of Uzbekistan was received from the Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Samarkand State University Mukhsijon Ashurov. In June of this year, Academician Ashurov was a guest of Samara University.
The visit to Uzbekistan lasted from October 19 to 23. At the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, a meeting with Rector Bakhtiyor Makhkamov was devoted to the organization of mutually beneficial cooperation in training personnel in the field of information technology and radio electronics. The subject of discussion was the issues of joint education and the creation of startup projects in the field of radioelectronic technologies, computer engineering, namely the convergence of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, computer systems and multimedia technologies; software engineering (system and application programming, algorithmization and mathematical modeling were discussed), as well as cybersecurity (information security and cryptology were discussed here).
Summing up the meeting, Rector Bukhtiyor Makhkamov expressed interest in holding a joint scientific conference on information technologies in Uzbekistan, and also noted that the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmiy is ready to actively participate in the organization and holding of this international scientific event in 2025.
During a visit to Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, an agreement was signed with its rector Rustam Khalmuradov on the organization and holding of the XI International Conference and Youth School "Information Technologies and Nanotechnology" in Samarkand in 2025 (ITNT-2025). This authoritative scientific and practical forum will be held for the first time outside the premises of Samara University and the departments of the Institute of Image Processing Systems – Samara of the Kurchatov Research Center.
The purpose of the ITNT-2025 conference is once again to become a platform for discussing the most significant results of fundamental and applied research in the field of information technology, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence, to become a center for exchanging experience in scientific and educational activities in the field of training IT specialists, as well as to attract young people to the field of advanced scientific research.
Holding such an authoritative international conference as ITNT in a foreign scientific and educational center will give an additional impetus to cooperation with high-tech universities and leading world-class research centers, and will contribute to the development of professional competencies of Samara University in the field of information technology and nanotechnology, as well as improvement of its competitiveness at the international level.
During his visit to Samarkand State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Soyfer gave a lecture to students and graduate students on the topic of exploring the Earth from space using modern remote sensing and big data processing technologies, including using deep machine learning technologies. The lecture aroused great interest among the audience. Many questions were asked, in particular about the possibility of participation of students and postgraduates from Uzbekistan in summer schools held on the basis of Samara University.
Following the meeting, Rector Rustam Khalmuradov expressed interest in Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov in developing cooperation with Samara National Research University, in organizing the training of students from Uzbekistan under the program "Educational nanosatellites of the CubeSat standard", as well as in creating a station for receiving and processing space information.
In addition, as part of an official business visit to the Institute of Engineering Physics and the Scientific and Educational Center for Nuclear Physics and Astronomy of Samarkand University, a program of interaction in the field of laser communication was planned.
