Within the framework of the already started admission campaign for foreign students enrolment for the next academic year, the Pre-University Training Center held a live call-in show with the Russian House in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka.
The Director of PUTC Evgeny Stefansky spoke in details about the stages of learning of Russian the foreign students of the Center go through, how training of students is organized. Lecturer of the Center Olga Zhuravleva informed the schoolchildren and the students of Zambia participated in the live call-in show on documents application procedure, on main faculties and institutes of Samara University, on the fields of extracurricular activities of the students.
Graduates of the Center Collins Mute (Zambia) and Tinotenda Mubvuma (Zimbabwe) took part in the meeting. They shared impressions of their study at Pre-University Training Center and of main educational programs, demonstrated their daily life in the dormitory online.
Then the participants of the teleconference bridge from Zambia asked questions about the professions available in the University, about whether it is difficult to learn Russian and obtain engineering education in a foreign language, about life and household activities in Samara.
As Alina Slepushkina, the Head of the Education Department of the Russian House in Lusaka, remarked, participation of African students of Samara University was particularly valuable in this meeting. “Our guys did not expect to see their own people. And the fact that Collins and Tinotenda familiarized themselves with Russia, learned Russian and study successfully will motivate many guys from Zambia to come to study in Russia”, – the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo thinks.
“This is only the first of planned online-meetings with potential foreign prospective students in the international representative offices of our country, – Evgeny Stefansky says. – Such form of promotion of Russian and Samara University may become very effective tool of recruitment”.
