On October 17, 2025, the All-Russian Scientific Conference with international participation "Nevskaya Photonics – 2025" concluded in St. Petersburg at ITMO University.

The event brought together leading researchers, engineers, and young scientists working in the fields of photonics, optical technologies, and biomedical optics.

Samara University was represented by young scientists from the Institute of Informatics and Cybernetics. They presented reports prepared under the scientific supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems, I. A. Matveeva:

·         4th-year bachelor's student Nikita Zakharov: "Application of Generative Adversarial Networks for Augmentation of Dermoscopic Images of Malignant Melanoma";

·         Postgraduate student of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems Irina Pimenova: "Diagnosis of Chronic Heart Failure via Spectral Analysis of Blood Serum";

·         Postgraduate student of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems Ksenia Tomnikova: "Application for Identifying Raman Spectra of the Skin".

The participation of Samara University representatives in the conference was an important step in developing scientific research in the field of optical diagnostic methods and photonics. Our participants' reports attracted interest from the audience and experts, and contributed to the exchange of experience and the establishment of new scientific contacts.

Conference participants shared their impressions:

"The conference allowed us to communicate with colleagues, discuss current research directions, and exchange experiences. It was especially valuable to hear comments from experts, which helped us look at our work in a new way and outline prospects for its development in the field of biomedical optics," said Ksenia Tomnikova.

"Presenting at such a high-level conference inspires us to continue our scientific activities. The discussions after the presentations helped shape new vectors for the development of our research in the application of neural network methods in medicine and optical diagnostics," Irina Pimenova shared with us.

Here is the opinion of Nikita Zakharov: "Participating in 'Nevskaya Photonics' was an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge in the field of biomedicine and medical image processing. We received constructive criticism and many ideas for further research. It was pleasant that our work aroused interest among other young scientists."
