University Delegation Visits China

A delegation from Samara University headed by the Rector Vladimir Bogatyrev paid a working visit to China.

The delegation included Dmitry Uglanov, professor of the Department of Thermal Engineering and Thermal Engines, Oleg Baturin, associate professor of the Department of Aircraft Engine Theory named after V.P. Lukachev, and Anastasiya Litvinova, public relations specialist for the international cooperation department.

During the visit, the delegation took part in the 23rd Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP). CIEP is a prestigious forum that brings together approximately two thousand international experts, university managers, diplomats, and business representatives from around the world. The aim of the conference is to create a platform for dialogue, strengthening mutual understanding and global cooperation in science and education. The forum participants also exchanged ideas for implementing new projects for the professional growth of young people in various fields of science. At the forum, the rector delivered a report titled “Sustainable Development: From the Skies to the Stars”, which focused on the development of aviation and astronautics, new challenges and threats, ways to overcome them, and the role of universities in this process.

Vladimir Bogatyrev also participated in a meeting of leaders of China's Ministry of Human Resources and the rectors of leading universities, where he presented his vision and proposals for developing cooperation between Russia and China in higher education and joint research.

The forum also hosted meetings with Chinese partner universities and negotiations on cooperation with Nanchang Aviation University.

As part of global academic exchange activities, the university representatives visited Shanghai and Nanjing. During his visit to Nanjing, the rector addressed the staff and students of Nanjing University of Aviation and Astronautics, presenting a report on global academic cooperation. Vladimir Bogatyrev also held talks with the university's president Bin Jiang to discuss a project to create a Russian-Chinese centre for propulsion engineering and energy technologies, whose activities will be dedicated to promising areas of propulsion engineering and advanced manufacturing technologies in robotics.
