On November 30, 2025, the international educational campaign "Geographical Dictation" was held at Samara University in the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov. The main goal of the campaign is to inspire participants to study geography. It aims to popularize geographical knowledge and increase interest in science and national heritage.
This year's dictation theme reflected not only the heroic past of our country but also its present and future. It was dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and the 500th anniversary of the exploration of the Northern Sea Route.
The participants were welcomed by the Head of the Department of Russian History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Pyotr Kabytov, and the Director of the Interuniversity Humanitarian Museum Center, Irina Feoktistova.
During the international educational campaign "Geographical Dictation," students learned about the activities of the Russian Geographical Society, participated in a geography quiz, and answered the dictation questions. Students expressed interest in the event and thanked the organizers for the opportunity to participate in the educational campaign.
The correct answers to the campaign's questions will be published on December 15, 2025, and participants will be able to check their results starting December 21, 2025, on the dictation's website – dictant.rgo.ru.
