The regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in German was held at Samara National Research University

11.02.2026 1970-01-01

In February, Samara University hosted the regional stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad in German, a two-part competition that brought together 60 students from grades 9–11 representing Samara, Tolyatti, Syzran, Kinel, Otradny, and Pokhvistnevo.

The jury included faculty members from the Department of German Philology alongside colleagues from other universities. Representing Samara University were Ekaterina Bespalova, Acting Head of the Department; Yulia Bakulina and Maria Goncharova, Associate Professors; Vasily Nikitin, Director of the German Language Center; and Oleg Maksimov, representative of the Center. The event was supported by volunteers—students from the Faculty of Philology and Journalism and the Faculty of History.

Participants were welcomed by Anna Bezrukova, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, who introduced prospective applicants to the academic opportunities offered by the university and the faculty.

This year’s preparation for the regional round was conducted not only under the guidance of school teachers but also with direct support from the Department of German Philology. In particular, Senior Lecturer Vasily Nikitin delivered a specialized training session focused on the format and requirements of the regional stage. Special emphasis was placed on the creative writing task—requiring an original text in German—as well as country-specific knowledge and grammar components.

The next milestone for top performers is the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad, scheduled to take place in Pskov. We extend our best wishes to all participants for outstanding results and hope to welcome the winners and prize recipients among our future students.

We would like to note that during the final stage, participants will once again meet representatives from the Department: Senior Lecturer Vasily Nikitin and Professor Sergey Dubinin are members of the Central Subject-Methodological Commission for the All-Russian School Olympiad in German under the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
