On Valentine’s Day, the Sergey Boldyrev Salon Dance Studio invited students to a romantic evening titled “Love is…”, held this year at the Aviation College of Samara University.

Valentine’s-themed evenings have become a cherished tradition for the Studio. Each year, the event is built around a specific motto—this time, “Opposites Attract.” The atmosphere was crafted in a palette of violet, blue, and pink, reflected in participants’ attire and the design of photo zones throughout the venue.
For four hours, guests twirled in waltzes, switched partners in lively polkas and contredanses, and expressed passion and grace in fiery tango performances. Dance adjutants assisted participants in forming elegant circles and maintaining rhythm throughout the evening.
As always, the event featured the beloved “Love Mail” tradition: students wrote and signed valentines, dropped them into a dedicated mailbox, and watched as Cupids collected and delivered the messages to their recipients. Additionally, guests had the chance to enter into a playful “marriage” for the duration of the evening and receive a humorous certificate signed by the “Registrar Cupid.”
The Studio’s ensemble presented two showcase performances. The first, “Wings of Love,” told a tender story of gentle, inspiring affection. The second piece portrayed the drama of conflict and passion between two hearts. Both numbers were choreographed by Studio coaches Svetlana Demendeeva and Dmitry Khudyakov.
