Andrey Korolev, a master’s student at the Institute of Economics and Management, has become the first student at Samara University to be awarded the Yegor Timurovich Gaidar Named Scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation.
This scholarship is one of the most prestigious awards for economics students in the country. It is granted through an open competition to the top ten students majoring in "Economics and Management" who demonstrate outstanding academic and scientific achievements.
Recipients of this scholarship must not only maintain excellent academic records (achieving top grades throughout their entire period of study) but also demonstrate significant, tangible results in their research activities.
Andrey Korolev perfectly embodies these criteria. His research covers a wide range of pressing topics in global economics and international economic relations. At the core of his scientific interests are commodity and resource markets, the impact of geopolitical factors on the economy, as well as neocolonial mechanisms and rent-seeking relationships. Notably, Andrey’s research foundation is highly impressive, supported by more than 50 articles published in peer-reviewed journals included in the VAK (Higher Attestation Commission) list.
The monthly scholarship amount is 15,000 rubles, awarded for a period of one year, from September to August.
