Today, at Samara University, the ceremony of awarding the winners of two regional scholarship competitions was held. Students and postgraduates of the University received the winner certificates of the Nikolay Dmitrievich Kuznetsov Scholarship, as well as the laureate diplomas of the Dmitry Ilyich Kozlov Prize. Both awards are regional and are granted for great contribution to scientific research in the field of aerospace engineering.

Congratulating the young people, Mikhail Leonov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy, noted, “The scholarship certificate is a symbol of recognition of your merits as excellent specialists. Thank you for your good solid work.”
Two dozen students and postgraduates have won the Dmitry Ilyich Kozlov Prize. Ten more have got the Nikolai Dmitrievich Kuznetsov Scholarship. Both were famous engineers who created unique products that provided our country with superiority in space exploration.
Postgraduate student Ivan Kudryashov is a fellow of the Nikolai Dmitrievich Kuznetsov Scholarship. He has been engaged in science since the second year, i.e., since 2017. At the Department of Aircraft Engine Theory, he became interested in scientific work – he studied impeller machines. Since the 4th year, he has been researching under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department Grigory Popov and Professor Valery Matveev, first on the theme of cooling turbines, and now, in postgraduate school, he studies axial compressors and conducts the dissertation research on aerodynamics of gas turbine engine compressors.
“It is impossible to do anything without making efforts, you have to work very hard. And it is also very important to find your vocation. I tried several scientific areas. This scientific search helps understand what you are really interested in, and what area you are ready to develop in. Because if you want to do scientific work just for the sake of money, nothing will work out. You need to understand, if it is yours or not. Well, perseverance, of course: you have to spend a lot of time on science. This is very hard work”, says Ivan Kudryashov.
Anastasia Taneeva study and work at the Department of Space Engineering. Her research topic is designing small spacecrafts for technological purposes.
“My path to science started when I was a 2nd year student of the specialty”, says the girl. “Then, having got acquainted with my future supervisor’s theme, I became interested, the first presentations at conferences and seminars began. The scientific work was supported by publications, which made it possible to participate in scholarship competitions later.”
Anastasia believes that the secret of success in obtaining status scholarships and awards is sincere interest in the research subject. Participation in youth student conferences also helps a lot. Moreover, it is necessary to raise the bar every time – to present the results of your work at national and international conferences, try to publish them in journals indexed by the Higher Attestation Commission and Scopus. “Listen to your scientific supervisor: (s)he will not advise you badly”, Anastasia smiles.
