The acceptance of applications for the 9th All-Russian competition of scientific research works of students and postgraduates "Science of the future is the science of the young" has been completed. In total, the competition received more than 3 thousand applications from young people from 18 countries. Among the foreign aspiring researchers there are students and scientists from Australia, Vietnam, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, China, Congo, Ivory Coast, Latvia, Taiwan, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and the CIS countries.
The finalists of the competition will present the results of their research to the scientific community from October 29 to November 1, 2024, in Samara as part of the 9th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum "Science of the future is the science of the young". The venue of the forum in 2024 will be Samara National Research University.
The participants of the competition are students and postgraduates from more than 450 Russian scientific organizations and universities of different levels of training: 42% of the total number of papers were submitted by bachelors, 24% — masters, 8% — specialists and 26% — post-graduate students. The most active regions in terms of the number of participants, in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, were the Krasnodar Krai and the Samara Region.
A distinctive feature of the forum is interdisciplinary scientific communication which combines natural science and socio-humanitarian areas. So the competition is held in ten sections. The most popular of them among the contestants were social sciences — more than 650 projects were submitted on them. They are followed by humanities — 400 applications, agro-, bio- and food technologies — 330 applications, engineering sciences first presented in the sections — 300 applications. Places were equally distributed in the following fields of sciences: life sciences and medicine, information technology and mathematics, Earth sciences, ecology and environmental management, chemistry and chemical technologies, materials sciences, physics and astronomy.
The largest number of projects was submitted from Kuban State University, Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Samara National Research University, BSU named after Academician I.G. Petrovsky and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
All applications admitted to the competition will be sent for an independent examination, according to the results of which the program committee of the competition will approve the list of participants who have passed the second stage.

The All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum "Science of the future is the science of the young" has been held since 2014 on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation to identify the most talented and creatively active students and postgraduates, as well as to encourage young people to research activities. The 9th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum is included in the initiative "Science to Win" of the Decade of Science and Technology. The directorate of the forum is the Inconsult company, the operator of government programs aimed at the development of science and technology.
