As part of the N.D. Kuznetsov All-Russian Forum on Engines and Power Plants, students tried their hand at the design marathon and the hackathon "Digital Production"

On the final day of the N.D. Kuznetsov All-Russian Scientific and Technical Forum on Engines and Power Plants, an award ceremony was held for the students who won the hackathon "Digital Production" and the design marathon. The awards were presented by Vitaly Smelov, Director of the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering, and Pavel Chupin, General Designer of PJSC UEC-Kuznetsov."

"Such events are always an exchange of knowledge and experience, it is an opportunity to communicate, find new friends, like-minded people, those who are on the same wavelength with you. I hope that you are even more convinced that you have chosen the right path and that engineering is very interesting and exciting," Pavel Chupin addressed the participants of the competitions. 

The organizers allocated 4 hours for the hackathon "Digital Production" on the first day of the forum. 7 student teams participated in the hackathon, 4 of which represented the Institute of Aerospace Engineering, 2 - the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering, one team was the guest from the Volga State University of Service.

Not everyone reached the finish line. For one of the teams, the task turned out to be too difficult, and it withdrew from the competition. As a result, the “Jumping jacks” team won, consisting of: Kirill Tandalov, Ildar Klepak, Andrey Blokhin. 

The “Engineer” team won the audience award. Its participants: Sergey Maksimenkov, Andrey Vasilchikov, Edgar Mirzoyan. Both teams represented Samara University.

4 teams of the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering took part in the design marathon. Its program was designed for 8 hours, 4 hours each over two days. In this competition, the jury awarded the first place to the team "Design Department 0" consisting of: Nikita Epifanov, Vladimir Mayorov, Kirill Persiyantsev and Egor Ogurtsov. 

All those who completed the tasks of the hackathon "Digital Production" and the design marathon were awarded certificates of participants. The winners received incentive cash prizes.

"I hope that next year all our students will participate in student conferences, professional competitions, will be engaged in science, and we will see serious work that will allow our engine building, our anchor company UEC-Kuznetsov, to make their products better," Vitaly Smelov summed up.
