Denis Pushkin, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, joined the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Inorganic Chemistry.
Now there are two representatives of Samara National Research University in the Council, since Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Metalworking and Chief researcher of the Engineering Center Fedor Grechnikov has also been a member of the council for several years.
Denis Pushkin believes that his inclusion in the Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences is recognition of the Samara scientific school of inorganic chemistry and crystal chemistry, created by Professor Viktor Seryozhkin. "The work of the Samara Scientific School of Inorganic Chemistry and crystal chemistry, created by Professor Viktor Seryozhkin, is well known to the general scientific community, therefore, membership in the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Inorganic Chemistry of representatives of Samara University is natural," Denis Pushkin notes. It should be noted that Professor Seryozhkin's research in the field of crystal chemistry is so popular in international scientific circles that the author has been among the top most cited scientists in the world for several years in a row according to the Elsevier publishing house.
The Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry identified five main tasks: analysis of the state and trends in the development of domestic and world science in the field of general and inorganic chemistry; forecast of the main directions of fundamental research in general and inorganic chemistry; development of new academic and federal research programs; promotion of research results of Russian scientists, study of the heritage of outstanding Russian scientists and popularization of scientific achievements; support for scientific schools and young talented scientists.
The Scientific Council on Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a scientific advisory, consultative, coordinating and expert body of the Russian Academy of Sciences, working on a voluntary basis at the Department of Chemistry and Materials Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
