In October 21- 25, Samara University took part in the traditional educational exhibition "Universities of Russia – the best choice". The event was organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Vietnam as part of the long-term project "Universities of Russia" in order to popularize Russian education. The exhibition was attended by 11 leading Russian universities, including Samara University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Moscow Aviation Institute, MEPhI National Research Nuclear University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and others.

The Samara University was presented by Kristina Vorotyntseva, Deputy Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Department, and Dmitry Uglanov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Thermal Engineering and Heat Engines. The purpose of the series of career guidance events was not only to familiarize Vietnamese schoolchildren and students with the opportunities and advantages of studying in Russia, with the areas of preparation of Samara University, but also to provide them with the opportunity to personally communicate with representatives of the University.

The format of the educational exhibition included a series of events in different cities of Vietnam (Hanoi, Haiphong, Nam Dinh, Hoabinh). After the grand opening at the Russian House in Hanoi, universities presented their programs in the format of fascinating presentations and videos. Representatives of Samara University spoke about the educational opportunities and areas of study offered by the University, answered the questions of schoolchildren and students of Vietnam. The events were attended by more than 1,000 students and high school students.

The delegation of universities held meetings with the leadership of schools and universities, discussed the prospects for further cooperation, and then told the students about educational opportunities in Russia. The possibilities of academic exchange and joint educational projects were discussed. Students and schoolchildren showed great interest in study programs in Russia, especially in areas with a technical bias. The students were also interested in Russian scholarships, which open up additional opportunities during their studies. Representatives of Russian universities stressed the high level of education in Russia and the unique prospects that await international students.

Productive meetings of representatives of Samara University were held on October 23 and 24 with Le Kui Don Technical University and with the University of Technology at Hanoi State University. The universities exchanged information about their educational departments, institutes and training areas, and also talked about the wide opportunities that are open to students today. Special attention was paid to discussing the prospects of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation. Vietnamese partners have expressed interest in double degree programs and teacher exchange programs offered by Samara University. The Russian side confirmed its readiness to accept Vietnamese students to study under the quotas of the Russian Government. The parties agreed to continue the dialogue and develop joint projects in the future.

"The Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering has extensive experience working with foreign universities to implement joint educational programs in bachelor's and master's degrees in 24.03.05 and 24.04.05 Aircraft Engines. The Vietnamese partners expressed interest in double degree programs, continuing education programs and the exchange of teachers and graduate students for joint scientific and educational activities. We are ready to accept Vietnamese students to study under the quotas of the Russian Government and other programs," said Dr of Technical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering Dmitry Uglanov.

On October 24, the delegation of Russian universities met with representatives of the and HR Training of Vietnam. The meeting discussed plans to develop partnerships with Vietnamese universities, including student exchange programs, the issue of awarding scholarships, and the problems of expanding scientific cooperation. Special attention was paid to the issues of adaptation of Vietnamese students in Russia and ways to improve the conditions for their successful studies and comfortable living. The Russian side spoke about specific steps taken by universities to facilitate this adaptation, including access to language courses and cultural events.

On the same day, the international press conference "Russian Universities for the Youth of Vietnam" was held at the Russian House in Hanoi. During the event, the participants presented their universities, discussed new cooperation plans and initiatives in the field of Russian-Vietnamese educational cooperation. Vietnamese graduates who had achieved success in their careers after studying in Russia shared their stories, which inspired the participants of the conference and emphasized the relevance of education received in Russian universities.

On October 25, an expert session "Prospects for Russian-Vietnamese educational cooperation" was held at the Russian House in Hanoi. The event brought together representatives of leading Russian universities from the Universities of Russia project, representatives of Vietnamese universities, the leadership of the Vietnamese-Russian Friendship Society and other honored guests.

Vladimir Murashkin, Director of the Russian House, opened the session, noting the importance of educational exchange and emphasizing the provision by the Russian Government of thousands of quota places for Vietnamese students through Rossotrudnichestvo. He noted that this effort is aimed at maintaining quality education and expanding opportunities for the youth of the two countries. During the discussions, representatives of universities shared plans for new joint projects, exchange programs and cooperation in scientific research. It was emphasized that Vietnam remains a priority partner for Russia, where Vietnamese students will receive the most cordial and attentive attitude.

The exhibition "Russian Universities – the best choice" has become an important step towards the development of educational cooperation between Russia and Vietnam, opening up prospects for young specialists from both countries. "Such events allow applicants from other countries to get to know Russian universities and learn about the opportunities that Russia provides to foreign students. At the exhibition, it was possible not only to tell Vietnamese schoolchildren and students about the areas of training and student life at Samara University, but also to introduce them to the Samara region. The agreements reached open up new opportunities not only for Vietnamese schoolchildren and students seeking quality education in Russia, but also for our students. For Samara University, this is an opportunity to attract more foreign citizens to study in Samara," said Kristina Vorotyntseva, Deputy Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Department.

The exhibition "Universities of Russia – the best choice" strengthened educational ties between Russia and Vietnam, and also opened up new opportunities for students planning to study in Russia.

In order to strengthen partnership between the two countries, on June 19, 2024, the President of the Russian Federation paid a state visit to Vietnam. Following the talks in Hanoi, the parties signed more than ten documents, and the presidents of both countries adopted a statement on further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership. Among the signed agreements are cooperation arrangements in the field of education.
