This year the Congress was devoted to the priorities of scientific and technology development, international scientific communication and unification of efforts of scientists for solution of global tasks.
The event was held in the Scientific and Technology University “Sirius” from 27 to 29 November.
The Congress united more than 7000 participants from 84 regions of Russia and 60 countries: young scientists, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, authorities, industrial partners, business.
The President of the Russian Federation sent greetings to the participants of the Congress.
The Head of state noted openness of Russia to constructive, equal and mutually beneficial international partnership in scientific area.
It is obvious that unification of efforts of different countries, building of the integrated chain from education and training of personnel to industrial production, active involvement of business to these processes will allow us to achieve significant results in development of science more quickly, to strengthen technology and industrial sovereignty and respond more effectively to challenges of the time”, – it is said in the greeting.
At the Congress Samara University was represented by Rector, Vladimir Bogatyrev, Head of Training Researchers Office, Aleksander Kuzin, and also young scientists, winners of the federal competitions: Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics, Irina Matveeva, Assistant Lecturer to the Department of Human and Animal Physiology of the Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Anastasia Konashenkova, postgraduate student of the Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Alena Kirsanova, postgraduate student of the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering, Artem Yurtayev, laboratory assistant and researcher of the youth laboratory “Power Facilities”, Artem Aleksentsev.
The Congress program included business, exhibition, sport, cultural and evening events.
Business program traditionally consisted of round tables, expert sessions, panel discussions and events in different interactive formats in priority areas of scientific development and international interaction, development of innovative materials, use of technologies in creative industries, popularization of scientific content.
Rector of the University, Vladimir Bogatyrev, took part in the panel sections “Inter-University Quantum Network: from quantum communications to quantum internet” and “Work in cooperation: new model of student design bureaus for solvation of industrial tasks”, and also performed as a speaker in discussions “Space of our dream” and “Space and future: will space again be the driving force for scientific and technological development of our country?”. Main objectives of the latter two events were generalization of experience and analysis of the current situation in development of aerospace sector, as well as determination of goals and tasks that scientists face in the field of near and deep space exploration for the next 10 years.
Vladimir Bogatyrev proposed measures, which, in his opinion, will help increasing level of education of schoolchildren in the exact and natural sciences, and also motivate young scientists to initiate projects in the field of commercial space. “One of such measures may be scaling up of university practice on support of teachers of fundamental disciplines in schools and lyceums. This will allow to increase salary for “subject teachers” and will provide more qualitative preparation of schoolchildren to USE. Another effective measure is increasing of the amount of financing of students’ start-up projects in the field of space technologies. Currently, start-up projects may claim funding in the amount of 1 million rubles, but for implementation of project in the field of aerospace it is insufficient. It is necessary to increase the funding at least to 5 million rubles. Then we can expect that the students will begin to create their own nanosatellites and to propose new solutions and technologies for space industry”, – the Rector noted.
Also award of the winners of the All-Russian Youth Competition of Science Projects #INTHECENTEROFSCIENCE was executed at the Congress.
A total of 132 applications were received for the Competition on a wide range of topics. Seven persons became the winners of #INTHECENTEROFSCIENCE, including Irina Matveeva, the Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Laser and Biotechnical Systems of the Institute of IT and Cybernetics with her project “Method of Multimodal Analysis of Optical Biopsy Data for Diagnostics of Skin Neoplasms”. She won in the nomination “Artificial intelligence technologies in the field of economy, social sphere (including public security sphere) and in public authorities”.
According to Aleksander Kuzin, Head of Training Researchers Office of Samara University, the congress is a great platform for exchange of ideas and establishing useful contacts. “Understanding of modern trends in scientific community will contribute to professional growth of young scientists and provide them with a larger charge of motivation in order to stay strong in the pursuit of their goals”, – Aleksander Kuzin noted.
