Student of Institute of Law at Samara University Participates in International Congress

On April 12, the XXI International Congress "Blishchenkovskie Readings," organized by the Department of International Law at the Patrice Lumumba Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, took place.

This year’s theme was "International Law as a Means of Ensuring Peace and Trust." The Congress included a plenary session and roundtables on topics such as: "History of International Law and Modernity," "Interaction Between International Public and Private Law," "The Principle of Sovereign Equality of States as the Foundation for Equal and Inclusive Political Dialogue," and others.

Egor Shevchenko, a third-year student of Institute of Law at Samara University, delivered a presentation titled "International Legal Acts Regulating the Right of Nations to Self-Determination" during the roundtable "The Principle of Sovereign Equality of States as the Foundation for Equal and Inclusive Political Dialogue."

The roundtable was moderated by Central Election Commission (CEC) members Igor Borisov, Anton Lopatin, and Boris Ebzeev, alongside Andrei Alshevskikh, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Commission Investigating Foreign Interference in Russia’s Internal Affairs.

We asked Egor Shevchenko to share his impressions of the Congress: "This is my third time participating in the Congress. It serves as an excellent scientific platform for exchanging advancements in international law. I would like to express gratitude to Artur Gennadievich Bezverkho, Director of the Law Institute and Doctor of Legal Sciences; my academic advisor, Sergei Ivanovich Krasov, Candidate of Legal Sciences; and the leadership of Samara University for their support."
