The events of the 6th Regional Methodological Theoretical Seminar for Higher Education Students, titled “Theoretical Studies: Methodology and Principles of Textual Analysis in the Scholarly Works of Professor N.T. Rymar”, have concluded. The seminar took place at Samara University from March 1 to 15, 2025.

Professor Nikolai Timofeevich Rymar celebrated his 80th birthday on March 15. Symbolically, the seminar’s closing event coincided with this milestone. Attendees heard congratulatory addresses from Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) and Samara State Social Pedagogical University (SGSPSU), premiered student-produced documentaries about Professor Rymar and his disciples, and presented the “Experimental Dictionary of N.T. Rymar’s Terms”, created by SGSPSU students.

The seminar commenced on March 1 with an open lecture by Professor Rymar on “The Novel and Perspectivism in Art”. The event was held at the Primakov Center.

On March 11, an online session featured analytical reading and discussion of Rymar’s 2004 article “Irony and Mimesis: On the Problem of Artistic Language in the 20th Century” from the collection “Irony and Parody”. This session was organized by the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

On March 15, participants of the 6th Regional Seminar presented their scientific projects analyzing the methodology and textual principles in Professor Rymar’s works. Using Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina” and Gaito Gazdanov’s “Evening at Claire’s” as case studies, teams explored the interplay of literary concepts and their connections to pre-Rymarian literary theory. Participants had prepared by studying Rymar’s works during January and February, enabling them to demonstrate deep engagement with his theoretical framework.
