From July 5 to 19, 2025, Bauman Moscow State Technical University hosted the event-packed International Youth Scientific School "Space Exploration: Theory and Practice" under the auspices and with the support of the State Corporation "Roscosmos".
The school brought together students passionate about space research from Russia and foreign countries. For two weeks, participants intensively worked on the interdisciplinary collective scientific and technical project "Designing a Long-Term Habitable Base in the Atmosphere of Venus", attended lectures by leading experts from the space industry, and visited enterprises including RSC "Energia", NPP "Zvezda", the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAN), the Mission Control Center of TsNIImash, the Yuri A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC), as well as the space technology laboratory of the Bauman University Training and Experimental Center.
Master's students from the Interuniversity Department of Space Research at Samara University, Evgeny Mironov and Veronika Goryachkina, took part in the school's work.
To complete the assigned tasks, participants were divided into groups:
· Evgeny Mironov worked on motion modeling in the group developing the Venusian reusable manned descent vehicle. "Will we land on Venus and what do we need for that?" was the main question Evgeny was solving.
· Veronika Goryachkina was tasked with developing means of autonomous power supply for the Venusian base, namely wind turbines and solar panels, without which a long-term mission would be simply impossible.
Following intense collective work, the project for a long-term habitable base in the atmosphere of Venus was presented on July 18, 2025. For their work, our students were awarded certificates of participation in the International Youth Scientific School "Space Exploration: Theory and Practice".
The students wholeheartedly thank Samara University and, in particular, the Interuniversity Department of Space Research for the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in participating in such a complex and science-intensive project!
