The final of the All-Russian (with international participation) competition of scientific research works "Ten to the Minus Ninth" is taking place at the International Children's Center "Artek" from September 1 to 22. This event annually brings together the most talented 7th to 10th-grade school students from different parts of Russia. Their research is the result of a passion for science and a drive for new discoveries.
On September 15, the competition finalists presented their projects at a scientific conference. For the participants, this was not just a project defense, but an opportunity to reach a large audience, share the results of their experiments, and hear valuable advice from experts. Such experience helps young researchers grow in science and build confidence in themselves and their future projects.
The conference jury members were:
· Sergei Goriainov – Head of the Contingent Formation and Support Office at Samara.
· Maria Yusupova – Laboratory Instructor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Samara University
· Daria Zubkova – Graduate of the Chemistry Faculty of Samara University, teacher of Chemistry and Biology at the Nayanova Academy for Gifted Children in Samara
· Grigory Kucherov – Biology teacher at the SBI "ICD 'Artek'".
· Ksenia Sokolova – Biology teacher at the SBI "ICD 'Artek'".
The best presentation was the work by Anastasia Dezhenkova, a 10th-grade student from Novomoskovsk. The topic of her research: "Nanomaterials for Space." The aim of her work was to experimentally verify the possibility of producing nanonickel via the ammonium-carbonate method.
Anastasia shares her impressions: "I am incredibly happy that I won; I still can't believe it! I would like to express special gratitude to my research mentors, family, friends, and the kids from the session – without their help and support, it would have been very difficult. I want to add that anyone can be in my place; the most important thing is to believe in yourself, be confident, and embrace the challenges that life presents!"
The winners of the scientific conference were:
· Anna Trishch, a 9th-grade student from Yaroslavl, with a work on "Assessing the Potential of Silicon Carbide for Medical Implants." Anna worked on the problem of implant biocompatibility in medicine.
Anna shares her impressions: "It is a great honor for me to be recognized by the jury among so many strong works. The conference provided not only bright emotions but also new ideas for future research!"
· Sergei Rusanov, a 10th-grade student from Votkinsk, with scientific research on the topic: "Environmental Monitoring Sensors Based on Porous Silicon." Sergei highlighted the problem of the danger of atmospheric pollution and humanity's exposure to "harmful gases."
Other works presented at the conference included:
· "Application of Diamond Semiconductors in Electronics" – Ekaterina Kozina, 7th-grade student from Orenburg.
· "Synthesis and Optical Properties Based on Porous Anodic Aluminum Oxide" – Sofia Medvedeva, 9th-grade student from Belgorod.
· "Environmental Monitoring Sensors Based on Porous Silicon" – Ekaterina Chekhovskikh, 7th-grade student from Samara.
All participants of the scientific conference of the All-Russian competition of scientific research works with international participation "Ten to the Minus Ninth" were awarded commemorative prizes from Samara University.
