Project goals:
Establishment of a laboratory developing physically sound models of combustion, based on new spectroscopic and kinetic data on chemical combustion processes and flames characteristics.
Project objectives:
  • Measurements and calculations of the kinetic constants for the processes involved in initiation and sustainment of combustion, formation and destruction of noxious substances and active particles (radicals, intermediate complexes, excited atoms and molecules, ions, etc.);
  • Development of gas-dynamic and kinetic models of combustion based on physically sound rate constants and their validation on laminar model flames;
  • Development of competitive technologies of energy efficient and environmentally clean combustion of hydrocarbons fuels in propulsion systems on the basis of experimental and numerical studies.
  • Anticipated results of the scientific research project:
  • New kinetic constants and mechanisms of chemical, energy-exchange and radiation processes occurring in the combustion zones;
  • Verified models of hydrocarbon fuels combustion of with the physically justified detailed kinetic processes; 
  • Competitive technologies of energy-efficient and environmentally clean combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in propulsion systems.
