The Samara university was included into number 980 of the best universities in the world

First time,the Samara National Research University named after academician S. P. Korolyov was included into a rating of the best universities of the world according to the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE).

Entry of the Samara university into number 980 of the best Research and Education Centers  in  the world reflects real processes in the past few years  occur at university in a world rating THE. Thanks to participation in the federal program of increase of university  competitiveness among the world s Research and Education Centers  "5 - 100" has positioned  itself  in the world Research and Education sphere, prioritize,determine the own  strategy and make plans a reality.

Promotion of the Samara university  in the world ratings,including  THE rating, testifies to the effectiveness of long-term strategy development ,increasing the competitiveness.This year two-thirds applications  for study  from students out of the  Samara. Among them representatives of 58 Russian regions and more than 14 countries located on four  Earth continents.

“I am sure that university  participation   in the federal 5-100 program, strengthening their scientific research capacity, link with production,future development of  engineering and humanitarian study,  will allow us to create all conditions for entry of the Samara National Research University named after academician S. P. Korolyov in one hundred of  the leading world universities", - the governor of Samara region  Nikolay Merkushkin expressed confidence.

Scientists of university gradually enchance the research work in terms of invested efforts and reputation, began to be published in the editions indexed by the international Scopus database much more often, the university actively attracts foreign students and teachers. A certain role in increase of university recognition in the world was played also by the merger of the Samara space and classical State Universities  uniform national research university which took place in 2015.

"Earlier, in Russia a few people knew that our university is one of the those universities in the world which has own group of spacecrafts on the Earth orbit. But now scientists of our university has  already invited to take part in formation of space programs of other countries. And such spacecrafts as "Stork 2d " created by scientists of university and specialists of Rocket Space Center "Progress"is  the pride only domestic, but also world space ", - the vice rector of the Samara university Vladimir Bogatyrev noted.

Тhe Samara National Research University named after academician S. P. Korolyov  improves the positions in the leading international and Russian ratings. Besides entry into a global world rating of THE, in 2016 the university  rose at once more than by 30 positions and entered into number 110 of the best universities of the developing  European countries  and Central Asia in a rating of QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia (QS EECA). Same year the university for the third time was among also the best universities  of the BRICS countries in a rating of QS University Rankings: BRICS. The university  is in group of the universities which took 151-200 places of this rating.

In a rating of university in Russia of RAEX agency (Expert RA) for 2016. The Samara university took the 26th place; in 2012 the higher education institution took only the 35th position in this rating. This year the university  was also included into number 15 of the best universities of Russia on a demand of graduates employers and took the 18th place on the level of research activity
