Samara University Entered the Ranking of World Universities Implementing the UN Development Strategy

The study assesses the contribution of universities to the realization of sustainable development goals of a civilized society

Samara National Research University entered the University Impact Rankings 2019, compiled by the authoritative British edition of Times Higher Education.
Among the best universities of the world there are 30 universities that represent Russia. Samara University is ranked 201-300 along with St. Petersburg State University, MISIS, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Kazan Federal University, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
The study assesses the contribution of universities of the world to the realization of humanity sustainable development goals, elaborated by the United Nations and adopted by the governments of all countries. These goals are aimed at: strengthening the health of all nations, fighting against inequality, poverty, hunger and the consequences of global climate changes;  improving people's access to education, drinking water, labour and affordable energy;  promoting ideas of social justice and peace. According to the UN, these goals should be achieved by 2030.
The experts of the global ranking noted the contribution of Samara University to the development of sustainable development goals on the following criteria: "Decent work and economic growth", "Partnerships for the goals", "Sustainable cities and communities" and "Peace, justice and strong institutions".
For reference
In 2018 Samara National Research University reiterated its positions in the most authoritative global ranking of Тimes Higher Education and entered the number of the best universities in the world according to the British magazine THE. In the Russian part of the list, the university reached the 14th  position among 35 universities of the country, which confirmed their competitiveness at the world level in this ranking.
