Bukhara State University is one of the oldest universities in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. It was founded in 1920 as the Institute of Public Education. It is also one of the largest universities in the country. Training is conducted at nine faculties: Pedagogy, Physics and Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Philology, Preschool and Primary Education, History and Cultural Heritage, Physical Culture, Tourism, Pre-Military Training. At Bukhara State University, there are programs for collaboration with universities in France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Poland and the USA.
