On February 13, 2025, the Government of the Samara Region awarded the winners and participants of the Samara Interuniversity Student Research Competition on International Relations “SamInter-2024” (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) participated by students of universities in the region.
The experts appreciated the high level of competitive entries devoted to the regional development of external relations between the Samara Region and the regions of Latin America and the ASEAN countries. The students’ interest in international projects in the fields of aerospace and mechanical engineering was noticeable.
Dmitry Abramov, Head of the Department of Investment and Innovation Policy at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara Region, delivered his welcoming speech to the participants. He noted that the development of new international contacts is one of the most important tools for promoting the Samara Region abroad. This makes it possible not only to form a positive image of our region in the opinion of foreign partners and share its innovative experience in various fields, but also to acquire other countries’ valuable knowledge and practices that can be useful for improving the citizens’ life quality.
Aleksey Chupakhin, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Samara, highly appreciated the students’ interest in working in the field of international relations and expressed his hope for further participation in other events dedicated to strengthening contacts between the Samara Region and other partner countries’ regions.
Mikhail Leonov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy of Samara University, drew attention to the fact that students’ fresh vision, creativity and energy give a completely new outlook on international relations, offer non-standard solutions and make a significant contribution to the development of our region.
The winners of the 2024 Competition were Elmira Enikeeva (Samara State University of Economics, Specialty “World Economy and International Relations,” 3rd year) and Sofia Makogon (Samara University, Specialty “International Relations,” 2nd year). Elmira studied the development of cooperation between AvtoVAZ JSC and Latin American countries. Sofia researched opportunities for expanding international relations between the Samara Region and the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.
The laureates of the 2024 Competition were Anastasia Eremina (Samara University, Specialty “International Relations,” 2nd year) and Elvira Alieva (Samara State University of Economics, Specialty “World Economy and International Relations,” 4th year). Anastasia and Elvira offered options for developing cooperation with ASEAN countries.
The winners and the laureates have been encouraged by internships in the Department of Investment and Innovation Policy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara Region, as well as the gifts from the Department of Investment and Innovation Policy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara Region and the Primakov Regional Centre for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations.
All participants in the Competition received Gratitude Letters and memorable prizes from the Department of Investment and Innovation Policy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Samara Region.
